PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026.

Dearly Ordinary values the privacy of people who visit our website and share stories with us. This Policy explains what information we may collect, why we use it, and how you can contact us about your personal data.

1. Information we may collect

Through “The Day When…” form, we may receive the story you submit, your child’s approximate age at the time of the story, your first name or Instagram @ if you choose to be identified, and an email address or Instagram @ if you allow us to contact you.

Please do not submit children’s full names, addresses, school names, dates of birth, medical information, or other information that is not necessary to tell the story.

2. How we use this information

We use this information to receive and review stories, contact you when permitted, and, when authorized, adapt and potentially publish a story. Adaptation may include editorial changes and changing or removing names and details to reduce identification.

3. Stories involving children

The form is designed to avoid collecting unnecessary identifying information about children. Because submissions contain free-form text, responsible adults should not include details that could identify a child beyond what is necessary for the story.

4. Storage and service providers

Responses may be stored using Google services used by Dearly Ordinary to organize content. We also use Cloudflare Turnstile to reduce spam and automated abuse. These providers may process technical data necessary to operate and secure their services under their own terms and privacy policies.

5. Sharing and publication

We do not sell information submitted through this form. A story is considered for adaptation and publication only when the corresponding authorization is selected. Your chosen credit preference — first name, Instagram @, or anonymous — guides editorial identification.

6. Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to review, manage, and, where applicable, publish submitted stories and meet legitimate operational obligations. Information may then be deleted or anonymized, except where retention is required or permitted by applicable law.

7. Your rights and requests

You may contact us regarding your personal data and, where applicable, request access, correction, deletion, anonymization, or other rights available under applicable data-protection laws. You may also ask us to stop considering a story for publication if it has not yet been published.

Contact: team@dearlyordinary.com.

8. Security

We use reasonable measures to reduce unauthorized access, spam, and abusive use. No internet-connected system can guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes to the website, forms, services, or applicable legal requirements. The current effective date appears above.
